Sarah Marci Weinberger - ESC Member of the Month, July 2005

Mr. Weinberger has 20 years of experience programming and leading the development of complex software products. Martin's expertise spans the entire spectrum of programming including, embedded systems, operating system drivers, applications programming, databases and web site development.

He got his start with application programming in 1986 writing computer programs using the Microsoft Windows v2.0 SDK. At the same time he worked in industry writing computer programs using either Intel or Zilog Z-8002 assembly languages. Mr. Weinberger is now working fulltime running ButterflyVista, a software company devoted to creating software products that help people.

ButterflyVista's leader product is JobFish®, a lifesaver for those individuals that are job hunting online and/or dealing with staffing services and need a way to organize, capture, and deal with the volumes of information the Internet provides. JobFish® eliminates the tasks usually done with a piece of paper and a pen and by your head when parsing data or memorizing pieces of information. Users can capture data from various job boards including careerbuilder.com, dice.com, and others. Track jobs, email contacts, print out reports, much more.

ButterflyVista's other main product is SI-Metric Office, a software utility that adds 5-tools to a user's Windows desktop. The features include a talking time and task reminder, the ability to say the time at a custom interval, world map and time zone grid show the date/time around the world, atomic clock synchronization, and full unit conversions. SI-Metric Office supports international settings, and comes with various themes.

Mr. Weinberger is now actively giving back to the community. He's a Board Member with the Association of Shareware Professionals, and involved with several of their programs. He frequently writes for ASPects, their monthly news magazine. He does consulting, helping various companies optimize their websites for better search engine placement, and involved with the Santa Monica, CA school system.
