About The Artist
Matthew Weinberger was born and raised in New York City. In high school Weinberger attended the International Center of Photography Teen Academy (ICP) where he studied both black & white and color film photography. Following high school, Weinberger attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied Art History and graduated with distinction. During his time at college, Weinberger worked as the Photo Editor for Emmie Magazine, was a contributing photographer for Moda Magazine, and worked two summers at Duggal Visual Solutions, a photo production house based in NYC. Weinberger also worked one summer as a teaching assistant at the International Center of Photography Teen Academy where he assisted Bradley Treadaway in teaching the Black & White Photo II class.
After graduating Weinberger moved back to New York City and is currently working as a cultural documentarian, photographing NYC's downtown nightlife, literary, theater, fashion, and arts scenes. His work has been used by publications including New York Magazine, Paper, Brooklyn Magazine, Artnet News, Nylon, LADYGUNN, Glamour, Bomb, and Office Magazine. He has been interviewed, with his work featured, Nylon, The Sunday Times, Office and Dazed.
